Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you get it removed. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
Section 01Who we are
MatriAmrit (“MatriAmrit”, “we”, “us”, “our”) makes traditional Ayurvedic nutrition for pregnancy, postpartum recovery and early childhood. We operate the website matriamrit.com and take orders over WhatsApp and our online ordering page.
Our registered place of business is 303, Studio Apartment, Dwarka, New Delhi 110078, India. This policy explains how we handle personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
By using this website, placing an order, or messaging us, you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use the site or place an order.
Section 02Information we collect
We only ask for what an order or a nutrition conversation actually requires.
Information you give us
- Identity and contact details — name, mobile number, email address, and the delivery address you supply.
- Order details — the products you buy, quantities, subscription preferences, order history and any delivery instructions.
- Health-related information you volunteer — your stage of pregnancy or postpartum, your child’s age, allergies, dietary restrictions, medication or conditions such as gestational diabetes, when you share these with our nutritionist so we can recommend or withhold a product.
- Communications — WhatsApp messages, emails, enquiry-form submissions and the notes our team records against them.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser type, operating system, screen size and approximate location inferred from your IP address.
- Pages viewed, time on page, referring URL and interactions with the site, collected in aggregate.
We never collect or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking password or any other payment credential. Those are entered directly on our payment gateway’s secure page and never touch our systems. See Section 04.
Section 03How we use your information
We use personal data for these purposes and no others:
- To process, pack, ship and confirm your order, and to handle cancellations, replacements and refunds.
- To give you nutrition guidance appropriate to your stage — and to warn you away from a product that is wrong for your allergy, condition or your child’s age.
- To send transactional messages: order confirmations, dispatch and delivery updates, subscription renewals and payment receipts.
- To answer enquiries, complaints and support requests.
- To meet legal, tax, food-safety and accounting obligations, and to respond to lawful requests from government authorities.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and payment chargebacks.
- To improve our products, recipes, site and service using aggregated, non-identifying insights.
- To send offers, new-product news or seasonal messages — only where you have opted in. You can withdraw that consent at any time and we will stop.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone, and we do not use your health information for advertising.
Section 04Payments and Razorpay
Online payments on this site are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a payment aggregator authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. When you pay, you are taken to Razorpay’s secure, PCI-DSS compliant checkout.
- Your card, UPI, wallet or net-banking credentials are submitted directly to Razorpay and its banking partners. MatriAmrit does not see, receive or store them at any point.
- We receive only the outcome of the transaction — a payment reference or order ID, the amount, the method used, the status (success, failure or pending), and the timestamp.
- Razorpay processes your data as an independent controller for its own compliance and fraud-prevention obligations, under its own privacy policy at razorpay.com/privacy.
- Refunds are issued back to the original payment method through the same gateway; we cannot redirect a refund to a different account.
For cash-on-delivery orders, our courier partner handles the cash collection and we receive only the settlement confirmation.
Section 07How long we keep it
- Order and invoice records — retained for 8 years, as required by Indian tax and company law.
- Health and consultation notes — retained while you are an active customer and for 12 months after your last order, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Marketing contact details — retained until you unsubscribe, then removed from the mailing list.
- Website analytics — aggregated data retained up to 26 months.
When a retention period ends, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
Section 08How we protect it
We apply reasonable security practices proportionate to the data we hold: encrypted transport (HTTPS) across the site, access limited to team members who need it for their role, password-protected systems, and periodic review of who has access to what.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required under the DPDP Act, 2023.
Section 09Your rights
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, 2023, you may at any time:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
- Correct data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
- Erase your data, where we are not required by law to retain it.
- Withdraw consent for marketing or for the processing of health information, as easily as you gave it.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
- Complain to our Grievance Officer, and thereafter to the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these, write to matriamrit.gkg@gmail.com from the email or phone number linked to your orders. We respond within 30 days. Deleting order records that we must keep for tax purposes is not possible until the statutory period ends; we will tell you if that applies.
Section 10Children’s data
Our products are made for infants and children, but our site and ordering channels are intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from a child.
Where you share your child’s age, weight or dietary information so that we can advise you, we treat it as data you have provided as parent or lawful guardian, we use it only for that recommendation, and we do not use it for tracking or targeted advertising.
Section 11Third-party links
Our site links to external services such as WhatsApp, Razorpay and social platforms. Once you leave matriamrit.com, this policy no longer applies. Please read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Section 12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, partners or the law change. The revised version takes effect when it is posted here, with a new “Last updated” date at the top. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will tell you by email or WhatsApp before it takes effect.
